Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for phpboyscout.uk, a personal technical blog run by Matt Cockayne.

The short version

This site is a static website. It does not run analytics, set tracking cookies, show ads, or host comments. It does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. There is no account to create and nothing to log in to.

What the site collects

Nothing, directly. The pages are plain static files. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel, no advertising, and no comment system on the site.

The site does not set any cookies of its own.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by GitLab Pages over a custom domain. Like any web host, GitLab processes standard request information (such as your IP address and browser user-agent) to deliver pages and protect the service. That processing is covered by GitLab’s own privacy notice — see GitLab’s Privacy Statement. I do not receive or retain those logs myself.

Posts link out to other websites (documentation, source repositories, social platforms, and so on). Once you follow a link, you are on that site and its own privacy policy applies. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.

Social posting

I publish short promo videos of posts to my own accounts on social platforms (for example Instagram). That uses each platform’s API to post my own content to my own accounts; it does not involve, collect, or process any data about visitors to this site. How those platforms handle data is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Your rights and contact

Because the site collects no personal data, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, or delete here. If you have a question about this policy, or about anything published on the site, contact me at matt@phpboyscout.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. This version is dated 17 June 2026.
